Hello,
Sorry if this is the wrong area to post a centos question. I don't know where else to turn.
I am trying to build my first pvr using centos: uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.9-42.0.8.EL #1 Tue Jan 30 12:10:22 EST 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
mythtv, and a hauppauge 350 card. When I run mythtv-setup and tell it to use the mpeg2 pvr-x50 card it tells me: Probed info failed to open.
From googling around I've tried to: yum -y install ivtv-firmware, but that just comes back with 'no match for ivtv-firmware nothing to do'.
Please help! I really don't want to reinstall xp.
Thanks,
Gil

type dmesg and copy and paste the relevent bit about ivtv in here.
after that check you have these lines in your /etc/modprobe.conf file
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 ivtv
...and just out of interest... why are you using centos ? I thought that was only used by people making web servers and routers for companies where they needed the support of the RedHat enterprize code without the price tag. Maybe Fedora Core would be easier to work with as it already has packages / tutorials etc etc
